Local Societies and other sources of information:
Luton Symphony Orchestra,
based in Luton, Bedfordshire, U.K., has been in existence for over
50 years providing interesting and varied concerts in Bedfordshire and North Hertfordshire.
Its current conductor, Uwe Radok, has been working with the orchestra since 1989 and has continued a
long-standing association with Luton Choral Society.
The Friends of Bedfordshire Youth Music, has been established as a registered
charity since 1971. Its aim is to support the work of Bedfordshire Music, a partnership between Bedfordshire
County Council and the Bedfordshire Music Trust, in promoting and sustaining musical
performance by the young people of Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes.
British Choirs On The Net is the premier Internet and
email listing service for British and International Choirs.
Luton Youth Music is about the opportunity
of music making for children and young people who mainly live in the Luton area.
The Musicall Compass was formed in 2000 by its director Crispin Lewis with fellow former students of the Royal College of Music and Guildhall School of Music & Drama, to perform Baroque music for voices and instruments.
Founded in 1973, Sherwood Choral Society have often performed with Luton Choral Society.
Buckingham Choral Society has its
foundations in 1872 and exists to promote the enjoyment of music in the Buckingham area. Luton Choral Society
performed joint concerts with the society in April 2006.
